Mihana Tennoko, an 18-year-old kunoichi, lives quietly in Anchorage with her four adoptive mothers—each a master in their own right. She can summon delicate butterfly wings at will and fly like a faerie, though she usually walks among humans as just another girl. Born of an alien hybrid lineage—part reptile, part amphibian—her true nature is hidden behind human form. But Mihana’s most extraordinary trait isn’t her appearance: she wields immense magic, gifted with healing powers and abilities to manipulate nature (chlorokinesis) and objects psychically (psychokinesis). Only her family knows the truth of who she really is—a secret they guard fiercely. On the surface, they run ordinary businesses: flower shops here, cafes there, a lucrative family farm on private land, nothing suspicious at all... But beneath it all? These women are deadly assassins known as "The Black Lotus", a group that specializes in hunting malicious yokai that threaten humanity while keeping their operations invisible from prying eyes.Mihana was born on a distant planet, home to a magical species that was tragically destroyed by an invasion. Whether she is the last survivor of her kind remains unknown. When her world fell, a dying warrior, one of her own people, was instructed by an 'important figure' to use the last of his strength to escort the baby to planet Earth in their space pod: His final mission was to find Nahimana Tennoko, leader of "The Black Lotus," and entrust her with the newborn. The pod crashed near Monaco City where Nahimana and three other kunoichi were hiding after completing an assassination job in America (Agnes’ hometown). With his last breath, he told Nahi two crucial things:1) The baby had a very high magic force so dangerously raw that it was strong enough to harm her surroundings, and half that power had been sealed away for safety reasons upon her birth.
2) Buried inside the baby's body lay a 'power crystal' of sorts - the very source of her power.Before taking his final breath, per his instructions, as payment for raising this child, he offered them wealth native to their planet, including three very precious items to eventually give to the baby when it was time - a locket, a music box, and a strange musical instrument. Nahimana didn't hesitate to accept, despite the unexpected circumstances. She's always wanted to be a mother, and she's always wanted a daughter of her own. She, Suyin, Ynes, and Agnes saw this as a blessing and a sign to truly be a family - a second chance to live normal lives. As a silent gesture of oath, they kissed the baby's forehead, vowing to give this special little girl the best life possible. With Nahi as the official mother, she bestowed the name Mihana Aika Tennoko to the newborn; their precious little 'Mimi'.Mihana's childhood was marked by a sense of solitude and introspection, at least until she met her eventual closeknit group of friends. Despite her being given a human form through magic, she still felt like an outsider because of who she is underneath. If she wasn't spending her days with the four women, she would be reading a book somewhere in her lonesome, playing with the animals, or watching the humans in secret. As a young girl, she lived in Monaco with the Black Lotus, though she was unaware of their true purpose there. During this time, she discovered her natural affinity for nature. She could communicate with animals and easily befriend them; her aura could tame even the unruliest animals. She can materialize any flora and vegetation at will after coming into physical contact with them and saw spirits that few others could see. She even had the ability to heal dead flowers and trees with a mere touch, bringing them back to full bloom, along with healing injuries unintentionally. Mihana learned of her healing factor after getting a scar on her hand from playing one day; the scar closes a few moments later. And lastly, she is able to turn herself into a miniscule fairy -- a ball of light with butterfly wings at the naked eye. Her ability to use magic was remarkable, even at a young age. Suyin, the intellectual archmage of the group, sensed the immense magic force within her that the dying warrior spoke of, knowing that with training, Mihana could become a powerful sorcerer. Nahi recognized the need to teach the little girl how to use her abilities properly, along with learning to defend herself. When she was 8 years old, Mihana, along with her mother and aunts, moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they settled into their new home, ready to begin a new chapter in their lives.Mihana’s training under the Black Lotus was rigorous and multifaceted, designed to harness her immense magical potential while shaping her into a disciplined warrior. They made sure she understood the importance of using her vast magical abilities for good, teaching her morals and values. They knew her immense power could be dangerous if left unchecked, so they molded her into someone strong and kind. Ninjutsu. Taijutsu. Genjutsu. Gunhandling. Swordsmanship. The Elements. White Magic. Dark Magic...they taught it all to her. Despite her peaceful nature and initial apprehensions about the intensity of the training, Mimi proved to be an exceptional swordswoman, particularly skilled in Iaijutsu, and demonstrated a gift with healing powers while barely breaking sweat. This arduous training is what helped her discover her portal abilities to get herself from one location to another and practiced accordingly. As Mihana grew older, so did the women's ambition, particularly Suyin, for what she might become; a master kunoichi, an expert medic, and an archmage capable not just wielding spells but bending nature itself. She developed impressive sorcery that allowed her to better control nature at will—The elements answered to her like puppets on strings; vines lashed out as whips or shields when needed while lightning or fire obeyed flickers from fingertips alone. The very landscape became her weapon, down to the grass, fruits, and vegetables. Her magic potential was nearly unlimited, and they knew it…but they had to remind themselves that Mimi's power was only at half capacity. They were rightfully wary of how her strength would be if the seal was broken. Suyin realized the moment that day comes, Mimi could far outclass her, which is exactly her endgoal.The most poignant moment came on their daughter's thirteenth birthday: Nahimana gifted Mimi the Yūrei Chō - a custom-made katana concealed within a multi-purpose, black janome-gasa umbrella infused with both technology & magic alike. A symbolic gift meant to carry legacy forward through discipline, not bloodshed, and a weapon that perfectly captures Mihana's very character.

Mihana's teenage years were far from ordinary. Upon receiving her weapon, the Black Lotus sent her on solo missions to hone her skills and test her might. These tasks ranged from gathering intel and spying on criminal organizations in her fairy form to capturing criminals in secret missions across the U.S., particularly in Alaska, where she would assist the police discreetly in detaining criminals. As part of her psychokinesis, she had the unique powers of telepathy and aura vision, enabling her to read minds and locate targets by detecting their brainwaves and anticipating their next moves. When the police arrived to collect the criminals, they were often left scratching their heads as they stumbled upon an array of petal-covered ground, with no idea where they came from or what significance they held, unaware it was Mimi's calling card. Although her missions were often successful, she occasionally encountered moderate amounts of yokai disturbances, which she effortlessly managed. Despite her extraordinary powers and responsibilities, Mihana enjoyed living an ordinary teenage life.Mihana leads a carefully balanced life—one foot in her quiet civilian world, the other in shadow. By day, she’s just another career-driven college student attending UAA, happily selling produce at her family's local shop, Four Seasons Provisions, and managing their private farm in lovely Spring Blossom Valley. The study of botany, toxicology, and nursing were driven by her healing magic to learn human medicine, since herbalism & toxins blend seamlessly with chlorokinesis. Minoring in business and creative writing showed dreams of opening her own cafe someday while revealing the secrets of her mind and heart through poetry. But Mihana longed not for worldly riches…she holds on to the simple wish shared by any girl her age to marry someday and build a family foundation with love, but has no clue how to acquire it. She's yet to truly find someone like herself in this world, and being with a human frightens her, for what kind of man would want a girl who glows like a ball of light one moment, and then scales next? Who wouldn't run if they knew what was hidden beneath her human skin?And on the other hand, Mimi’s greatest uncertainty lies in her own identity. She knows she doesn’t belong to any known classification—not a human, not a yokai, not a mutant, but something else. Something the Black Lotus refuses to explain fully. Every question about her origins is met with deflection or vague reassurances that only deepen suspicion rather than soothe it, only for them to reply that now wasn't the time. The only tangible clue is a pink butterfly locket that she always wears religiously around her neck. Inside rests a nearly faded image of a man and woman whose features mirror Mihana's too perfectly be coincidence. This gnaws at the girl who can mend wounds but cannot mend the hole left behind by missing pieces of her past. What were they hiding? Why protect the secret even from her when raised within the same shadows all along?

Powers & Abilities

Yurei Cho is the name of Mihana's precious weapon, created with magic and technology. The blade itself, made out of 'thunderbolt iron', has the ability to transform unsightly blood spray into an elegant display of foliage, and function as a deadly snake sword (Whip sword). The words, Hope Springs Eternal, is etched upon the blade in Kanji; it is a personal motto made by Mimi herself. A pink lotus charm, made out of rare pink jadeite, hangs gracefully from the hilt of her sword.The Janomegasa parasol is pitch black, designed with pink butterfly among an assortment of flowers in chinoiserie design. It's ultra-thin, extremely rigid, made out of Kevlar, and augmented with magical defensive properties. It is bulletproof, can be used as a shield, and can reflect a variety of attacks. It has a built-in shotgun and used for floating.Chlorkinesis (Or Agrokinesis) - The ability to mentally manipulate wood, plants, fruits and flowers (even moss and grains). Using this ability, one could grow plants to enormous proportions in nearly any environment and use them as weapons that can grab and attack with vines and roots, project thorns, and quickly regenerate at the user’s will (or release toxins and pheromones).
